Boris (The sludge/drone band) is great. Around since 1992, it's hard to place what Boris really is, genre wise.

Boris and Sunn O))) doing Etna from Altar. I was there for this! The recording does not do justice to how much vibration and smoke was in the room. It was really amazing. The recording sounds a little distorted, probably because of how loud everything was but I’m not really an expert.

Sunn O))) & Boris, Etna
(Altar, 2006)

“A spreading bay is there, impregnable to all invading storms; and Etna’s throat with roar of frightful ruin thunders nigh. Now to the realm of light it lifts a cloud of pitch-black, whirling smoke, and fiery dust, shooting out globes of flame with monster tongues that lick the stars; now huge crags of itself, out of the bowels of the mountain torn, its maw disgorges, while the molten rock rolls screaming skyward; from the nether deep the fathomless abyss makes ebb and flow.”

— Virgil, Aeneid

This except only adds to the greatness hidden inside this song.

Boris and Sunn O))) (With Jesse Sykes of her band, “The Sweet hereafter”)’s The Sinking Belle (Blue Sheep). There are two more versions of The Sinking Belle (Black Sheep and White Sheep), and all three are meant to be played together. White Sheep contains only the instrumentation of Blue Sheep, and Black Sheep is ambient background noise to make a beautiful threesome of epic proportions.
